I cannot fault his place, the building is amazing with so much fascinating history. The best way to describe this place is just to say “it is what it is” it’s a grand building but in the best way possible for the price of a room no one should be complaining. The staff are absolutely fantastic, Robert and Dominic are both very helpful and just great down to earth guys, had a great laugh with them. All the other staff were delightful, very welcoming and pleasant, always smiling but you can’t not spending a night there, my and my wife’s cheeks were killing us from laughing the whole night! You’ll easily get your 10,000 steps in trying to find your way about the place but there’s features in every room you can’t help but appreciate. We will be back! Thanks for a great night guys!

Despite reading pretty bad reviews online of the hotel we know that reviews can be misleading so we booked anyway. The hotel offered availability for the dates we required and excellent value for money in comparison to other properties nearby. We were pleasantly surprised, despite the hotel being slightly dated, everywhere was clean and tidy with our room being comfortable, bathroom clean and shower and bath both good with plenty of hot water and fresh towels of good size. Hairdryer supplied in room with tea/coffee making facilities. Staff friendly and helpful. We didnt eat or drink in the hotel as we had prior arrangements so cannot rate either of those. Location was perfectly suited to us and peaceful for a good nights sleep. We stayed 3 nights.

Very relaxed and although a budget hotel it has some very fine features - a beautiful old house and lovely grounds. Enjoyed the comeraderie and easy atmosphere. It was warm, clean and friendly. Loved the bar lounge where Elvis made a phone his call from when his flight stopped in Prestwick and his way back from serving in Germany a piece of Elvis history there - great to see the photo! Prices were very reasonable and they had entertainment in the evenings thrown in. Quirky - indeed - but enjoyable experience. We'll be back!

Ignore all the bad reviews - you will not find better value for money anywhere near Ayr. Yes it was basic, yes there were minor faults but the rooms were clean and roomy enough. Most places you don't get what you pay for but here you do, yes it's budget, yes it may be a little old and dated but the staff are all very pleasant and the rooms are clean and tidy - unless you're looking for luxury and if you just want a decent bed for the night then this is the place to go

Lovely breakfast need to.be in for 9am or the TV goes off as does the breakfast it's aimed at coach parties mainly in and out attitude be on your way. Having said that it was good. We were the only ones in at 8.45am the staff were all eating their breakfast in the restaurant we felt like intruders to their space staring at us. It was weird and in all my years I've never seen staff eating in restaurant hours when there are still guests.
